Today's hot Pogo Bingo Luau is the latest in a long evolution of the popular game since its entrance into the American leisure scene in 1929. Back then, a dealer called out numbers from a cigar box at the Atlanta county fair and players covered numbers with beans and called out "Beano!" when they blacked out a row. The game was called Beano until someone accidentally called out "Bingo!" instead, giving birth to a new name which stuck.

Originally a lottery played on Saturdays in Italy in the early 1500s, Bingo made its way to France and Germany before coming to the United States nearly 400 years later.
